Janie, thank you so much for hosting me for the kick-off of the virtual book tour for my new mystery/sweet romance story, Coda to Murder. MuseItUp Publishing just released the e-book on Friday, February 22.
Readers, please leave comments during the book tour through March 21 to win prizes. Needless to say I am thrilled to be here to tell your readers about this cozy mystery that takes place in a small town in Michigan. Today I’d like to share the up and down emotions I feel about releasing a new book.
Coda to Murder is the second mystery published by MuseItUp Publishing. I didn’t think launching my second book would be quite as exciting as releasing the first mystery, Sunshine Boulevard. I’ve talked with many authors who have many titles under their belts, and they all say each release is as exciting as the previous ones. I agree. It’s fun and scary at the same time.
While sharing my story with the world is what I want to do, I also am exposing my work to criticism or acclaim. I think this two-pronged prospect will hamper some writers from allowing anyone to read their work. It is a bit frightening to sign a contract and let editors and the publisher go through the manuscript with a fine tooth comb. But I look at that as an opportunity to make the story shine. They all have the goal to make the book the best one possible for readers.
When the final galley for Coda to Murder appeared in my email inbox, the word FINAL made me gulp. This is it! Now the world will be able to read the story that only a year or two ago was just a spark within my brain. No more cutting out awkward sentences or pushing around paragraphs to a different place or fixing typos.
Today I can finally get the story of Pastor Christine Hobbs into the hands and hearts of readers. It is my sincere hope the book will entertain, elicit smiles, as well as cause discussion among readers.
Pastor Christine Hobbs never imagined she would be caring for a flock that includes a pig, a kangaroo, and a murderer.
